Pulse Point™ II Series

Point Level Measurement

Pulse Point™ II Series models sense when a material reaches or leaves a particular point. These point level switches use electronic vibratory technology to sense the material. This mechanical operation is not affected by the dielectric constant of the material being measured. Choose from a Pulse Point™ II Fork or Rod, depending on the application.

Easy Installation

With universal power and no need for calibration, the Pulse Point II Series level sensors can be installed quickly and with ease. The power supply can be either AC or DC and is non-polarized which permits wires to be connected without regard to polarity, removing these issues during installation.

Superior Sensitivity

Unique to the Pulse Point II Series level sensors is ultra-high sensitivity where materials with densities down to 0.5lbs/ft3 (8kg/m3) can be sensed with reliability in both horizontal and vertical orientations.

Technology: Vibrating Fork; Vibrating Rod
Applications: Wide range of dry bulk materials, liquid/solid interface

Choice of Standard or Advanced Electronics

Standard electronics is a basic value package including universal power supply, three possible sensitivity settings, time delay adjustment up to 6 seconds and a push button test function. Advanced electronics includes the same industry leading sensitivity and universal power supply, plus even more flexibility and value, including six possible sensitivity settings, material buildup indication, a greater range of time delay adjustment, liquid/solid interface and much more.

Remote Electronics Options

There are two installation options available for the Pulse Point II. An integral unit combines the probe and the electronics into one unit. The remote option separates the electronics away from the process. Remote units are used to either locate the electronics, including the indicator lights, in a more convenient location so they can be seen or serviced more easily or to move the electronics out of environments with higher operating temperatures. A remote unit may be mounted up to 50 ft (15m) or 100 ft (30 m) away from the probe, depending on the device.

Build-Up Detection

The Pulse Point II Series offers a fork or rod shaped probe that vibrates until it detects material. The sensitivity of the fork or rod can be set to meet the material requirements, but there is a period of time when fine materials can begin to build up on the fork and it does not trigger the alarm. The Pulse Point II has been designed to flash the green light, when material starts to build up on the probe, providing information to the user in order to be proactive in checking the unit. If the material continues to build up on the probe, it will then stop vibrating and alarm. Watch the video here.

Test FOB

The Test FOB provided with Pulse Point II units equipped with the advanced electronics allows for a periodic function test to be performed without removing the cover. When the function test is initiated the sensing of material is simulated and relay contacts will change state if the unit is functioning properly. This is especially advantageous for hazardous location processes where removing the cover with power applied is not an option, such as applications involving explosive vapor or dust.

Global Approvals

Pulse Point II is available with UL approval (for both the US and Canada) for ordinary location, CE marking (electromagnetic compatibility and low voltage directives). The rod is available with UL dust ignition proof approval (for both the US and Canada) and UL explosion proof approval (for the US).
