The SiloTect is available in three measuring range configurations: up to 33 ft (10 m), up to 66 ft (20 m), and up to 98 ft (30 m). For applications exceeding 98 ft, Bindicator recommends consulting the factory directly.

The SiloTect achieves an accuracy of ±0.078 in (±2 mm) to ±0.157 in (±4 mm) to scale, depending on the application and configuration. It has a dead zone of 0 ft (0 m), meaning measurement begins at the antenna face with no blind zone.

Yes. The SiloTect uses 80 GHz FMCW radar technology, which is largely unaffected by dust, vapor, or airborne particles. Its narrow beam angle and superior signal focus minimize interference from silo walls and internal structures. An optional air purge is available to protect the radar face from material buildup and moisture in harsh environments.

80 GHz radar operates at a shorter wavelength than older 26 GHz systems, producing a narrower beam angle and smaller antenna size. This translates to better focus, fewer false echoes from vessel walls, and improved performance in silos with complex geometries or low-dielectric materials. The SiloTect supports media with a dielectric constant (εr) as low as 1.4 on the long-range model.

The SiloTect measures dry bulk solids including grains, cement, powders, granules, plastics, and coal, as well as liquids including emulsions, chemicals, and viscous fluids. It is used across industries including feed and grain, building materials, food processing, chemical manufacturing, energy, water treatment, and pharmaceuticals.

ATEX and FM approvals are coming soon. The SiloTect currently carries IP66 and IP67 ratings (NEMA 4X / 6), making it suitable for outdoor and washdown environments. Check with Bindicator for the latest certification status before specifying for hazardous area applications.

The SiloTect supports three configuration methods: on-site programming via the plug-in graphic display, wireless setup using Bluetooth® and the Bindicator mobile app, and remote configuration through the free EView2 desktop software. HART communication is supported for integration with existing control systems.
